Cheers to you and welcome to our wonderful world of Bulgarian dance!

The Ivan Dimitrov Dance Ensemble has been together since August of 1997, following Ivan's arrival in the U.S. We have performed at various Washington area locations, including the Millennium Stage of the Kennedy Center, the World Bank, the opening festivities of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, the Greater Washington Folk Festival, Fairfax Spotlight by Starlight, and the Fairfax Fair. We specialize in entertaining at private parties and weddings, and it can be said that Ivan always adds that touch of spark (and sparkle) and life to any festive occasion.

Ivan has put together a lovely program that can be tailored to your needs, with as few as three performers or as many as twelve. The program can be anywhere from ten minutes to one hour, and can include audience participation if you like. Bulgarian dance can also include the dazzling and evocative gypsy style, and each individual dance incorporates beautiful and colorful hand-made costumes, enchanting and engaging music, and plenty of enthusiasm and emotion. The genre is perfectly suited to enhance wedding receptions and parties; indeed, many of the dances evolved over the centuries from actual Bulgarian weddings.
